Bio

Dan Pokorni, the creative force behind the Dan P Project, is a Chicago-born guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter, composer, and producer. Over the course of his career, he has released five albums and four singles, signed four publishing deals, and earned airplay on more than 150 radio stations worldwide.

His debut album, GUITARSCAPES (2006), showcased a collection of acoustic instrumentals that established his voice as a solo artist. The standout track “Shakir” earned an Honorable Mention in the VH1 Song of the Year contest and drew praise for its ability to “soothe the sadness it creates.”

With Men Who Listen 1 (2009), Pokorni shifted into rock/pop territory, delivering a polished mix of styles—from the tongue-in-cheek “I Hate Tom Cruise” to the prog-infused “Forever.” Illinois Entertainer highlighted the record’s sharp production and versatility, cementing his reputation as a multifaceted artist.

The momentum continued with Men Who Listen 2 (2012), a four-song EP that blends the melodic hooks of ’80s rock with post-grunge intensity. Tracks such as “As Far As We Can Go” and “Bad Days” stand out for their dynamic builds and lyrical grit, while “Cast Our Love Away” and "Change in the Blink of an Eye" carry an anthemic lift that resonated with fans and reviewers alike.

Since then, Pokorni has continued to evolve, releasing singles including “Smash,” “Put Me Out of Misery,” and “Go Get a Gun,” alongside reimagined versions of earlier works like “Shakir.” Many of these appear on collections such as The Remixes (2024) and Guitar Vistas (2024), each release pushing his sound forward while staying true to his roots.

The Dan P Project is an ongoing exploration of sound, story, and emotion—music designed to land with impact and linger long after the last note.
